  1. I’m fascinated by the concept of being a Jewish Buddhist. I am very attracted to much of Buddhism wisdom. But I don’t believe in Buddha as a god, as some Buddhists basically do today. Who found that article? I’d live to hear more about it.

  2. I like and agree with Gavin’s comment on how humble and selfless the Dali Lama is. I like this comment because if you want to be a leader you have to be a role model so others look up to you.

  3. Skye and I wrote about similar things. I agree with everything she said and mediation continues to interest me. We both talk about how even with a mental handicap, meditation can help someone clear their head. That concept to me is really fascinating.

  4. I find the topic of Julia’s comment very intersting. I wonder if there is a certain process the mind must go through to get to this state of being. “☆*:.。. JJ .。.:*☆

I read an article by Jonathan Mead titled ‘Make Love to the Work’. In it he talks about us always talking about getting things done, especially at set times. He says that Buddhists view time as a circle, instead of a line with a starting point and ending point. He said that they came to terms with the fact that there is no ‘done’. You simply have to be at peace with the fact that time as we know it is but a circle, an infinite loop so you should make the best of your time and never wait for later, because later will never come.”

  5. I agree with Ben on the idea that meditation is a good way to clear your mind. I think that the Buddhists used meditation because it helped clear the mind to the truths of the world. Calming the mind helps a monk think, which helps them learn, something monks are always doing.

  6. I liked what Ben said because meditation is in my opinion the best way to clear your mind. Something that I think is really cool is how different religions have their own medititations, but they are all really used for the same thing, which is clearing your mind.

    1. That’s an interesting thought, Sara. Do you think your religion emphasizing getting a clear mind? I’d love to hear more from you about this.

  7. I found Jacob’s comment interesting about not fearing death. They see death as an escape and part of life because they believe in reincarnation.

  8. @Maranda

That seems to line up with the current Pope’s goal of connecting people. They seem to work hand and hand even though from a religious standpoint they may not see eye to eye.

  9. I find Jacobs comment about death interesting. Buddhism find death as natural and don’t fear it. They actually think it is an escape from suffering.

  10. I found what gavin said really interesting that the idea of buddhism is less a religious thing and more of a way of living. I always thought of buddhism as more of a way of living but I didn’t really look into it and see that it wasn’t as much of a religion as people thought.
