Tell your students to keep their cameras on. Inform them that the writing assignment will be locked and inaccessible to them until the assessment begins and it will be locked again once they submit their work or when the assessment ends, whichever comes first. They must submit it before the conclusion of the class or they will be locked out and will not be able to submit it. Once they submit it, they cannot open it again.

Post an Assignment with No Submission Type
Sometimes you want to make an assignment that requires no submission. Nothing is due back to you. Here’s how.
Add a Zero Point, Ungraded Assignment that Still Shows up in Students’ To-Do List
Yes – you can have it both ways. You want the students to see work that you have assigned in their to-do list and “Coming Up” list on the right side of their window but you DON’T want to grade the work or assign points to it. Here’s how.
Getting Zoom Recordings to Canvas
More Growing with Canvas:
For teachers who need to record classes and post to Canvas, here is how to find the link to the recording using the Cloud.
- Go to Zoom.us
- Log into your Zoom account.
- Select “Recordings” in the left sidebar.
- If you’ve saved any recording to the Cloud, they will be listed under the “Cloud Recordings” tab; if you’ve saved any recordings locally, a record of that will be included in the “Local Recordings” tab.

For now, the FCIT approved methods are to either 1) make this recording an Announcement in Canvas or 2) Create a page, be it the home page or another standalone page that holds the recordings.
