“New Quizzes” is the next generation of Canvas Quizzes. Later this year “New Quizzes” will replace “Quizzes.” You will be able to keep quizzes from the previous format but you will not be able to create new quizzes in the previous format. Here is how to enable New Quizzes for your courses.
