Week 4:
Happy Friday!
It was another exciting week in the Chipmunks!
We shared and read some of our favorite stories for Storybook Week, made ice cream in nature, played hockey in sports and games, learned about ballet in music and even had some of ours parents and babysitters visit!
In place of our weekly movie, Chipmunks chose to tell their own story. Below is a link to a SpokenPhoto book. You do not need the app in order to view the stories, but it is a lot of fun to play with (and it’s free)!

Not all of our friends were comfortable recording their voices, but everyone did contribute to the art.

What wonderful weather to end week 3! Our bunk continues to grow as we added some new friends this week!

Just a couple of reminders:
– Parents Day is next week… More details coming soon!
– Please make sure to label all items coming with your child. We have lost a few pairs of googles, bottles of sunscreen and a pair of shorts. If you could kindly look through your child’s belongings to see if these items came home by mistake, it would be appreciated.
– Two bathing suits for M-TH work best for the kids. On Fridays, we only swim once. Please also make sure to send in dry clothes to change into for end of day.

Week 2 Update
Chipmunks had another great week at Tenderfoot Camp!
Some of our favorite activities included:
– Playing the trombone in music and forming a Native American Drum Circle!
– Catching Salamanders at the creek during Nature!
– Creating Stars and Stripes paper cuts in Art!
– Playing soccer in sports!
– Learning our colors in Spanish!
– Reading “A Pocket for Corduroy” in our bunk and creating our own pockets out of paper and felt!
Next week should be just as much fun!

Hello and welcome to the Chipmunk bunk for the 2015 Tenderfoot Camp summer season!
My name is Erika Moser and I am excited to be your child’s head counselor. I have worked within the Friends’ community for the past four years as a head counselor here at Tenderfoot Camp. I find each day at camp to be an adventure of self-discovery and wonderment, and truly enjoy each day we spend here! I’m assisted by two wonderful counselors in Rachel Brotman, who is a college junior, and Taylor Brizill, who will be a sophomore at Friends’ Central.
During the school year, I work at an elementary school in West Chester, where I serve as the music teacher. In addition to my responsibilities there, I also teach private piano lessons both locally and in West Chester. It’s hard to put music on the shelf for the summer months, so I try to incorporate it into our everyday bunk experiences.
Both of my children have attended Friends’ summer programs, with my oldest taking on the role of CIT at the Trailblazer camp and my youngest joining bunk G1.
Our summer will be a lot of fun. I will send out a weekly recap of our activities on Fridays. Please feel free to contact me should you have any additional questions and/or concerns.
