Peru Trip Description

Every other year Friends’ Central School takes a group of students to Cusco, Peru. Students stay with a host Peruvian family for two weeks. During this time they also volunteer daily for two hours in a clinic for children with disabilities. Students help in different ways: folding clothes, cooking and playing with the children. The jobs are rotated among the students and the two chaperone teachers each day. In addition, they attend Spanish classes for four hours everyday. In the last four days of the trip, the group hikes the Inca trail and they stay in campsites and rustic conditions.
This trip is an amazing and challenging experience that has made a huge impact in the lives of many Friends’ Central students.
