Rose on Tuesday

Today we went to the clinic and worked with the kids for the second day in a row. They are so sweet. I was talking to one of the nurses who was telling me that some of the kids come as babies, and some come as little kids and their parents just leave them there because they don’t have the financial ability to support them. It’s really sad, but the kids are so sweet and so cute. We walked around outside with them, and the little boy I was with, john, would smile every time we went into the sun. It was adorable. Then we fed them and took them to their naps. We also have school today. Yesterday was our first day of school and Saoirse and I are partnered together (too typical) and so far we is talk the entire time in Spanish which is really fun. The night life in cusco is like nothing I’ve ever seen. There are people dancing at the Plaza de Armas, which is the main square with all of the restaurants, shops, cathedrals and small streets around it. The people are really nice and the food is incredible. On Sunday, for Father’s Day our host moms family was over. Then at night we all danced together in the living room. Anna and I are really getting a good experience because we really feel like part of the family. I’m so happy. I also bought a cool sweater and I bargained for it (dad you should be proud of that). So I hope all is well at home, can’t wait to hear from you!!!

  1. Hey Rosa, It all sounds so wonderful. You are so fortunate to have a great family to live with for these weeks. So tell me about the food? What is it like and what have you eaten that is unusual? Do you all go out in the evenings together? I cannot wait to see all of the pictures, the ones that have been posted are beautiful. Everything here is the same. We will be going to the beach and I will probably commute a few days from there.
I love you so much! xoxo Mom

    1. I am very happy that you are speaking so much Spanish. It seems to me that everyone is happy, speaking Spanish, and having the experience of a lifetime. Please give my regards to the whole group. Sigan todos adelante!

It sounds like each day is better than the last. Hopefully, by now you have caught up with sleep and for certain you are into the adventure. I am not only proud of you bargaining but I am equally proud that you watched a sporting event on TV! There is hope to convert you to a sports fan after all. OK I know I am pushing it here…. šŸ™‚
