Doug Emlen earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell and went on to complete a Ph.D. at Princeton in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB). He did his post-doc research fellowship at Duke before joining the faculty at the University of Montana in 1996 where he is now a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences. He is the author of a recent book called Animal Weapons as well as the co-author of an excellent textbook on Evolutionary Biology.
