Warcross

Warning: This book contains really bad and uncomfortable romance, overused plot lines, horrible attempts at re-creating  different languages with English characters, and explicit language. This review contains spoilers for this book. Do not read this book or this review if you are uncomfortable with any of these things. But thanks for stopping by anyways. Disclaimer: I am not making you read an article about a super cringy book, you chose to be here, and I am also not making you stay. If you wish to preserve your sanity, then leave this article right now. For those of you who choose to stay, you have been warned. Alright, you know what you’re getting yourself into. I had a rather optimistic mind when I started this book. A girl with rainbow hair living in New York, scraping a living together by hunting criminals, stuck in a hole of $3,450 in unpaid rent and $6,000 in credit…

Winter Olympic Wrap-Up

The Winter Olympics are almost over as it is almost February 25th! This has been a very good Winter Olympics for the top 5 countries: Norway, Germany, Canada, Netherlands, and the U.S.A. Norway has 33 medals total, Germany has 24 medals total, Canada has 21 medals total, Netherlands has 16 medals total, and the U.S.A. has 16 medals total. Some very talented U.S. olympians are: Red Gerard – Won gold in men’s snowboarding slopestyle. Chloe Kim – Won gold in women’s halfpipe in snowboarding. Shaun White – Won gold Men’s Halfpipe in snowboarding. In the Olympic Sport Curling, a member of the Russian team was caught using illegal substances during a drug test. This sparked up controversy, as the Russian team got 3rd place in mixed Doubles curling. Following up on the Russian doping curler, the Russian team had to give back their bronze medals, which is very disappointing. Norway…

The Flupocalypse

The winter, with its bitter cold and biting winds, has procured yet another unpleasant threat to our well-being. A flu virus has been spreading quickly from person to person, leading to profuse illness, and, on occasion, even death. Fear not, however! The virus has not greatly affected our school, and Mr. Kennedy, the Upper School Principal, states that, “We’re strong, we will persevere, we are not panicked.” About 5% of the middle school student body has come down with the flupocaplypse, while only 4% of the upper school has fallen prey to the epidemic’s wrath. Two upper school teachers have been absent, while no middle school teachers have missed school as a result of the flu. Teachers and kids have been out more than normal in the upper school, though the extent of absences has been about what one would suspect for this time of year. When approached by us,…

Assasination Classroom

In classroom E-3 of Kunugigaoka Academy, an assassination is about to take place. Yes, today was they day they would succeed in killing their unkillable target…or so they thought, as the octopus evaded every single one of their attacks yet again. Assassination Classroom is a brilliant anime that illustrates a peculiar bond between student and Sensei (teacher) that can only be found here. Korosensei (unkillable teacher) is the target of this assassination classroom, with a 10,000,000,000 yen reward on his head (898,000,000 US dollars). For some unknown reason this unkillable super being who is going to destroy the earth on March 13 and whose speed tops out at Mach 20 has his heart set on teaching the E class. On the condition that none of the students will be harmed, Korosensei is allowed to teach the worst students at Kunugigaoka Academy. As Kunudon later explains, the E class is the…

In Filming

Most of the students in the Middle School have noticed something out of the ordinary happening around school this week. From Monday 10/15/17 to Wednesday 10/18/17 the Middle School is welcoming some very special guests, a filming crew who will capture the true spirit of the Middle School. Let’s start out with a quick introduction to who is on the crew. First up we’ve got Ben Kalina. Third grader Maia Kalina is the daughter of Ben Kalina, and she goes to school here at FCS herself. Next up we’ve got Ian Mosley-Duffy, and finally we have Connor O’Mara. These three people are the only members of the filming crew, and have been working hard throughout the past few days. The biggest question here on campus inquires as to why the crew is filming during our classes, outside, and even during service? 7th grader Dev Gupta believes that they are filming…

How An Eclipse Works

For the first time since 1979, there was a solar eclipse of the sun that covered the entire contiguous US. Every single year there are two eclipses either of the sun or the moon. “But Adele, if there are two eclipses every year then why can’t I see one every single year here in the US?” Well my reader, that is exactly why this article is here. This article will cover why we can’t see an eclipse every year, why eclipses occur, and exactly where and when you can view the next total solar eclipse of the sun. So grab your solar protective sunglasses and moon pies and get ready to hear some info on our favorite star, the sun. Photo taken by Jeff Goldader Why eclipses occur Eclipses occur when the sun and the moon align at a particular time of year when the moon is in the new…
