Hello, it’s Alec again, and today we have episode 3 of our Stranger Things serious. Just wanted let you guys know that there are spoilers in this article and you should watch the season if you haven’t yet. Thank and enjoy.
Chapter 3, Dustin is just getting home from a long night of trick or treating with the group, but his mother begins to interrogate him. Trying to hide the mysterious creature in his trap, he lies and tells her that it was rigged with a motor to ease her. Then when he gets to his room he takes out the creature which he names Dart and feeds him chocolate. After that it shows us a flashback of Eleven finding Hopper in the woods. Hopper spots Eleven and then Eleven is sleeping in her bed after that dream. Hopper tells El it is to dangerous to go see Mike and El goes on a rant and freaks out at breakfast. In the next scene, we see Will trying to find Bobs keys. When Will finds them Bob offers to drive him to school and Will thinks it should be fine. Then we see Dustin getting several books from the library and he has to steal them. Later we return to the ride Bob talks to Will like his moments and scenes are dreams, so he tells him a story. A story about dreams he had as a kid and how the only way he made them stop was by standing your ground and telling the monsters to stop.
To change it up, the group is at school now and we see everyone except Dustin, who burst through the door late to class. He asks the group to meet about his creature, which is inside his bag. We return to Hopper now in the police office and he finds a key clue to the main location of the decay. This scene is breathe, but it is important for later in the show. Switching back to El, we see her inside the cabin and she has another flashback with Hopper. She remembers first going to the cabin with Hopper and having to clean it up and setting up traps outside. Eleven is mad and ignores the rules that Hopper gave her, and she leaves the cabin in a rage. Finally in this episode we see Steve after a basketball match against Max’s brother, Billy, talking to Nancy about the night before and Nancy can’t say for sure that she loves him. Steve leaves angered by the conversation and we transition to the group. The group has met up to see Dart and Dustin has know idea what it is, but Will begins to have flashes to the Upside Down and thinks of the creature he coughed up, as well as the noises he heard in the Upside Down.
We see Joyce and Bob talking about Will. Bob tells Joyce about his experience as a kid and how there is always a positive in the end like dating Joyce. Next, Hopper is at the lab talking to the doctor about the decaying plants in the area. Hopper orders the doctor to search the area and test it for whatever they can. Then we have Nancy and Jonathan talking about the night before and Nancy feels like she meant what she said at the party. After that scene, we find El again walking through the forest only to find a house with a kid and a mother. She remembers asking Hopper about her mother and Hopper told her she was gone in Heaven, then Eleven disappears from the home. Then, Joyce plays the recording from the night prior and sees the same creature that Will had drawn before. Will later at the school tells Mike about Dart and what he had seen. Mike burst into the classroom and yells at Dustin to stop showing there teacher. While Mike and Will are telling the group about Dart, Max is left outside while her brother leaves her behind. Dart gets loose when Mike tries to kill him and runs away. Nancy and Jonathan talk to Barb’s mother and tell her to talk to them at the park.
Now towards the end of the episode, we see Hopper talking to the scientist, but he gets a call from the other officers about a russian girl. Hopper leaves in a rush to find Eleven who is presumably the russian girl. Back at the school El is trying to find Mike, but they are currently looking for Dart. Mike is looking for Dart in the gym, but only finds Max and is mad, Eleven then finds them, but is jealous that Mike is hanging out with Max. After Max tells him about the Magnet, Mike thinks that it was Eleven, but does not see her. Will is in one of the bathrooms and finds Dart, but Will gets scared and has flashes to the Upside Down. When Will runs away, Dustin finds Dart in the bathroom and hides him. Then we see Will and he thinks of Bob and stands his ground as creatures consume him.
Overall I loved the episode, but it left me with a lot of questions in the end. I think it was a great way to jump into the season and got my heart beating this made me jump right into the next episode and I think you should jump into our next article.
