Looking Ahead: Upcoming Movie Casts & Crews

So, wow! The past week has revealed a lot of “news” about what is happening in Hollywood, and of course we’re here to fill you in. Here are four things that were announced in Hollywood recently!

The Coen Brothers are officially writing the Scarface reboot’s script

First of all, the Coen brothers are signed on to write the script for the reboot of the 1983 classic thriller film Scarface. I’m case you aren’t familiar with the work of these brilliant screenwriters and directors, they have directed and written amazing movies such as Fargo, No Country for Old Men, Raising Arizona, O Brother Where Art Thou, The Big Lebowski, and quite a few more. They have shown massive range, making one of the best comedies of all time, The Big Lebowski, to a chilling drama that set the tone for modern mobster films, No Country for Old Men. Fans of the original Scarface and the Coen Brothers are certainly anything but upset about this. They are going to take an interesting character and twist it into an interesting story with amazing characters, fun action, and amazing dramatic tension that will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time.

Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War is promising to be a great movie. Recently we got a production teaser trailer. That informed us filming for Infinity War Part I started, and a few confirmations. The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy will work together. Thanos will eventually fight the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy. Can we please get a awesome name like “Avengers of the Galaxy” or something? The roster for Infinity War is legendary: Spiderman, Scarlet Witch, Thor, Hulk, Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man, Ant Man, Wasp, Thanos, Baby Groot, Rocket Raccoon, and many more. We are very excited to see what may be the best and biggest team-up superhero film of all time!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

So recently the new Star Wars movie has been given a name, The Last Jedi, and the internet blew up asking questions like, “Who is the last Jedi?” “Is Jedi plural?” and “Why is the banner red instead of yellow?” All of these are great questions that I wish we knew, but it is also rumored to be the best film of the year! One thing that you have try not to do is hype it up; most films that were too hyped in 2016 weren’t that good (*cough cough* Batman v. Superman). So yeah, just don’t hype it too much.

Official Simba and Mufasa castings for CGI Lion King!

Jon Favreau has recently posted two pictures on his social media confirming two casting choices: Donald Glover as Simba and (returning to the role) James Earl Jones as Mufasa. YES! People seem to be extremely pleased with these decisions, ESPECIALLY Donald Glover as Simba. Donald Glover is a fantastic, underrated, multitalented actor from movies like The Martian and shows like Community and Atlanta. He also had an amazing year in 2016, being officially announced as Lanso Clarissan in the upcoming Han Solo: A Star Wars Story and Spider Man Homecoming. We know that he will be great at the acting, but worry not, because he’ll ace the singing as well! Donald Glover is also a musician under the name Childish Gambino and sings beautifully and stunningly. As for James Earl Jones, great choice… Again… While I kind of wish we had a new person to add some new aspects or layers to the character Mufasa, James Earl Jones is an amazing actor and an amazing Mufasa.

Overall, this year has some great news for film, and so far, no disappointment from fans! We are all very excited to see these castings, screenplays, movies, and directors on the big screen.
