The Fault in Our Stars is about a girl named Hazel Grace, 16, who has been battling thyroid cancer since age 13. Only through the use of  experimental medicine is she still alive. Hazel meets a guy named Augustus at a cancer support group, and Hazel and Augustus continue to see each other at the support group. Brought together by his reckless driving and her love for books, the two become good friends. When they go to Amsterdam to meet the author of Hazel’s favorite book, An Imperial Affliction, they have some difficulties. However, once the plots start to get better, the story takes an unexpected turn.

This fast-paced, heart-wrenching, tear-producing, laughter-inducing book was one of the funniest and most real love stories I have ever read. It is filled with suspense and excitement. YOU NEED TO READ IT! Okay? Okay.

Trailer Review by Catherine Cianfrani

The Fault in Our Stars (also known as “TFIOS”) is a book for young adults that people all over the world, myself included, are loving. On January 29, 2014, 20th Century Fox released the official trailer for the TFIOS movie, coming June 6, 2014.

After watching the trailer numerous times, I got myself together enough to write a few of my opinions on the upcoming movie.

I would like to start by saying that this movie looks amazing. The author, John Green, has been part of the production process the whole time, so this movie is bound to be similar to the book. The filmmakers have done so much, including cutting off Shailene Woodley’s super-long hair, to fit the image of this book as much as possible. The cast and crew have travelled all over the world for this movie. The cast filmed in Amsterdam as well as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to make the setting as accurate as possible. So far, I haven’t heard of any scenes or characters that have been left out, which makes it even more exciting because sometimes taking out one scene or character can ruin a whole movie.

The cast sounds perfect, with exception to Augustus Waters, who is played by Ansel Elgort. In the book, Augustus has black hair, while Ansel has brown. Besides that, Ansel seems like he’ll be a great Gus.

I think Shailene Woodley, who is playing Hazel, is an amazing actress. She’s appeared in loads of movies and starred in a TV series a while ago. I really can’t wait to see what she does with Hazel.

Altogether, I predict that this movie will rate a 9.5 out of 10!
